Para el 2020 se espera la llegada de 4.5 millones de turistas al año, que podrán disfrutar de atracciones como un simulador de vuelo panorámico y de expedición submarina, de los 34 sitios declarados patrimonio de la humanidad por la Unesco, asimismo, conocer y vivir la adrenalina de los “Piratas de Bacalar”, el museo interactivo “Descubriendo a los mayas”, así como la presentación de “La tierra de los árboles sagrados”, entre otros atractivos como mil 200 cuartos de hotel y un centro de convenciones.
